AUTO ACCIDENTS ARE THE NUMBER ONE KILLER OF TEENS

State Farm Insurance

…In an effort to curb the national trend of rising injuries and deaths among teens due to auto accidents, the Tucson Police Foundation and TPD, with a $10,000 grant from State Farm Insurance, will continue their Safe Teen Accident Reduction Training (S.T.A.R.T.) sessions …more

Never before has safety been such a hallmark issue among the nation's cities and towns. Violent crime has increased across the nation, and attacks on police officers have reached an all time high since the acts of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. In Tucson and Pima County in 2008, serious attacks on police officers and sheriff's deputies continue to increase, calling for a need to provide support for our law enforcement members. On June 1, 2008 an assailant armed with a high caliber rifle wounded two Pima County Sheriff Deputies and killed a Tucson Police Officer. The Tucson Police Foundation needs your help in the fight against crime.

Empowering a community to promote public safety requires a spirited partnership between the public and private sectors. Tucson's law enforcement officials, community organizations, places of worship, educational institutions, service clubs, healthcare facilities, and scores of stakeholders in safety must come together with the collective resolve to build a safe community.

It is in this spirit that the Tucson Police Foundation was founded.
